Schools in Nepal
Within the Nepal initiative, work is currently taking place at two schools, where more than 150 children receive nutritious support every day.
Shree Saraswati School
Kaski District, Nepal
A primary school in a remote mountain village where most families live from farming. Daily nutritious support helps children stay active and involved throughout the school day.
Shanti Niketan School
Lamjung District, Nepal
A school in a rural area where many children travel long distances every day. Receiving a daily meal helps them keep the energy to be present all day.
What happens
Within the Nepal initiative, the focus is on nutritious support for children through local settings such as schools, together with involvement from the local community.
Nutritious support
Children in rural schools receive a nutritious, freshly prepared meal every day, made with local ingredients that fit the local food culture.
Local involvement
Food2Grow works with schools, parents and local helpers. Support works best when local people are involved.
Practical delivery
Purchasing is done as locally as possible, from farmers and markets in the region. That keeps the initiative practical, affordable and sustainable.
Visible progress
Numbers, costs and quality are tracked. This makes it possible to show how the initiative is developing.
